Thanks for this excellent post. Is anyone aware of a video showing this? I am little lost between the 3rd and 4th pic. I guess the CPU cooler is on the bottom of pic 3 but the text states it needs to be removed in order to remove the board at an angle.

I see now... the heatsink is upside down under the board. You are separating the HS from the CPU simply by removing the board since it is physically part of it.

I was able to remove the board from the case without having to first remove the cooler. It's tricky, but if you get it just right you should be able to get it out. BE CAREFUL of wires and such, especially the WiFi/Bluetooth antenna leads. You don't want to snap them.

Thanks, my goal was to replace the thermal paste with MX5 which I accomplished successfully. I should have used a util like stressberry to show that it made a difference but it's done now.

I did the same, though I tried MX-6 for the first time with this one. It helped.

I removed the WifI card from under the SSD (I do not need it). Does anyone know if the antenna leads can gently be pulled up to remove it without removing the board from the case?

I followed these 2.5 SSD install instructions to a tee but I do not see the drive in the file explorer. Any suggestions??

1. Check whether the cable is installed correctly;
2. Download DiskGenius, run DiskGenius as an administrator, and format the partition of the newly installed SSD before using the newly installed SSD.

DiskGenius download address: https://www.diskgenius.com
