New Bios for AK3 J4125

Post by Nax »

Is there an updated bios for the AK3 with J4125 processor.
I bought it a few days ago but there is almost no information at all about this one with the new J4125.
Also, i have a question: i like this mini pc a lot but i have one problem with it: it is extremely silent but when the cpu reaches 60 degrees the fan starts spinning very fast and makes a lot of noise, i can't find any way to control the fan speed...

If your machine is running without any problems, you don’t need to refresh the BIOS file. Wrong refreshing will cause serious consequences (the machine cannot be turned on). This is the latest link: https://mega.nz/#!RopVVArB !uRvawv7rz1n ... BKWRhuQq48
We have EC files for controlling fans, you can download and use: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Thank you for the anwer, but unfortunatly it doesn't works for me. I followed the guide, tried with two different usb flash drives, tried putting in the drive just the bios files, then just the ec files then both, but nothing.
In the boot selection screen i can't find at all "Built-in EFI sheel" and if i choose to boot from the usb drive, one selection doesn't do anything at all and the other tries to boot but then it tells me there is no operative system.

Bios is not much of a problem, i just want to able to control the fan speed

Hi!
I confirm that the above files are not usable.
The UEFI does not work at all.

I need to update the AK3 since the 2.4 GHz Wifi does not connect at all. After some research everybody suggests a BIOS update, but... there is no available BIOS.

Is there any plan to release any useful BIOS update or should I start believing that I have just thrown a significant amount of money?

gkanel,

On another thread a person was having similar problems, and switching to a different USB port allowed the flashing to proceed without issue. As well, I believe you have to disconnect any external drive, such as an add on HDD/SSD, for the process to work properly.

The instructions in the following post may help...

W8 Pro (Z8350 4GB/64GB) / GK1 (J4105 4GB/64GB) / AK3 (J4125 8GB/120GB) / T6 Pro (J4125 6GB/128GB) / AM02 (Athlon 300U 16GB/512GB) / AMR5 (Ryzen 5 5600U 32GB/512GB NVMe) / GK3 Pro (N5105 16GB/512GB NVMe)

I had similar problem with wifi connection and found solution.

In my case the problem started after I installed 2.5 sata drive to the mini pc.

The problem occures becasue of bad wifi antenna placement - in my case one antenna are placed behind SATA cable - this is why in case if SATA drive connected - the wifi signal becomes unstable.

I moved antenna to other corner of device and problem was solved ! enjoy =)
