Solve! Boot into the BIOS interface problem

Post by admin »

I am glad you are here to learn about our work to improve ACEPC further! I have collected feedback from everyone and concentrated on solving the problems that have arisen.
Without further ado, let me introduce these issues to you.

1.Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

In previous improvements. We canceled PXE mode and SHELL mode. If the system disk (Windows Boot Manager) is missing, you will be guided to this interface. Another factor that causes this problem is that the mainboard fails to recognize the hard disk correctly.
  • When the problem occurs for the first time, you can try to restart. The BIOS will recognize the hard disk after the second boot.
  • If it still leads to this interface. We need to enter the BIOS option to see if the startup item is normal. After booting, click the DEL key until you enter the BIOS, then switch to the "BOOT" tab, and check whether the first startup item of "Boot Option #1" is "windows boot manager."The figure below's problem can be solved by adjusting the Windows Boot Manager to "Boot Option 1".

  • If things are not going so smoothly: when you enter the BOOT option and find that the windows boot manager has disappeared, you need to reinstall the system. You can find the system belonging to your own machine at the file download site: https://www.iacepc.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=34.
2.After booting, the system enters the main BIOS interface

Usually, booting directly into the BIOS interface means that the hard disk is not recognized. If you have replaced the machine with a new hard disk, you need to partition the hard disk and install it before it can be used normally. If this problem occurs after you have used it for a period of time, you need to check the hard disk to see if the connection is unstable.
Currently, the feedback we have received is this problem encountered by the new machine. After communication with the research and development, this is the unsuccessful handshake between the SSD and the motherboard socket protocol, which causes the system to fail to start.
  • To replace the machine's hard disk with a new hard disk, you need to partition the hard disk and install the system before it can be used normally.
  • Occurs after using the machine for a period of time. Check the stability of the hard disk connected with the disassembly tutorial. Replace the hard disk to detect whether it is a hard disk problem.
  • Occurs after the new machine is received. Try to power off and power on again. Let the SSD and the motherboard slot protocol successfully shake hands. You still enter this interface after booting. You need to reinstall the system for the machine.
Notes on reinstalling the system:
  • When formatting the U disk, you need to change the format to NTFS format and set the drive letter to "Winpe"
  • When reinstalling the system, if some data is stuck in the hard disk, it means that there is a problem with the hard disk. Please contact our after-sales mailbox: service@iacepc.com. We will replace you with a new hard disk.
  • When reinstalling the system, if it prompts that the disk is faulty, use the shortcut key Shift+F10 to call up the command prompt; Or unplug the U disk and enter the command, enter diskpart in the command prompt, press Enter, and enter list disk. If the hard disk is not found, the hard disk has failed. Please contact our after-sales mailbox: service@iacepc.com to replace a brand new hard drive.
New addition: You can also press F7 to open the quick startup item when booting, and check whether there is a hard disk in the startup item. If the hard disk disappears, it means the hard disk is damaged.
If you encounter problems when reinstalling the system, you can consult Gabe or me. Thank you for your continued support of the forum.
