No, not with these models. Add on drives cannot be used as system drives with these, as the system board doesn't support it.

Though you may be able to successfully install Windows on an add on SSD, or even clone the on board storage with Windows to an add on SSD, it will not operate properly as a system drive.

Which model do you have?

For reference, they'll likely not have active links for version 1803, as it's no longer supported by Microsoft.

timdsweeney,

Ah, that's good. Glad you were able to download 1809 and install it. However, for reference, Microsoft support for version 1809 will end on Nov 10th of this year. This doesn't mean that it won't still work, but it does mean that it will no longer receive security updates of any kind.

I have links to version 1909 for the Z8350 based systems, but I don't know if either (Home and Pro) works with the W5.

I wish they had a sticky post in this forum with links to current and past, but still valid, Windows 10 OS downloads for all of their systems. It would certainly make things easier.

i reimaged the system, but wifi driver seems to missing... can you supply the broadcom wdi sdio driver for the wifi/bluetooth?

Much appreciated...

After reinstalling the system, WIFI may disappear for a while. You can try to power off and restart. WIFI will reappear. If it still cannot be solved, you can reinstall the 1809 system and close the UPDATE. The WIFI will disappear only after the update. If you have enough storage space, you can try the 1909 system, which can completely solve your WIFI problem. This is a Microsoft system A bug. We have only found these solutions so far.

timdsweeney,

You can get the drivers for your W5 Pro at the following...

https://mega.nz/file/8oJBWAJB#vmAmmdiGG ... Gf5sXlVXM8

The driver installation tutorial is here...

https://mega.nz/file/Q4whEQYQ#dofk3-aJM ... aYf_huS9D4

Edit: It looks like the tutorial is no longer on that site. I'll search the community a bit to see if there is an updated URL. If I find it I'll edit this post again to add it. With this said, hopefully you know how to install/update the drivers without that tutorial. If not, when you select to update a particular device driver, select the newly downloaded drivers folder to search in. It should then automatically find the correct driver in that folder and install it. I've never downloaded the drivers file from mega, so I don't know if it first needs to be unzipped.

DeepCoder,

You can find the system file you need in the File Download section.
