Brightness Control

Post by GarDJ »

Having just purchased AX15 (and also AK2 Plus a few months ago) - both of them I am unable to adjust brightness? Is there a fix for this - is it a known problem? tried usual reinstalls etc.

Use the shortcut keys [FN] + [F6] to increase the screen brightness, and [FN] + [F5] to reduce the screen brightness. For more information, please refer to the following video:

Thanks so much for quick reply, those function keys don't work - whilst the slider may change the brightness doesn't :-)

Are you missing any device drivers? Have they been updated recently? In Windows, you can also go to Settings > Display and find options to adjust the brightness for the screen.

Hiya, all drivers OK - Settings - Display shows slider but that has no effect either. I even tried a fresh System reinstall from WINPE USB as posted here the display sliders were the same, having no effect, this was before any updates took place. Still the same after updates. Puzzling? :-)

Yeah, it's quite puzzling! Usually, if the display slider doesn't work, it seems like there's some type of driver missing. Function keys aren't always part of the display drivers, but usually relate to some extra graphics software, so maybe something is missing? Sadly, I don't have one of these laptops so I'm not sure what graphics adapter they have in place, but if you can figure that out, check the software bundles for this laptop, or check with AMD/Intel's website for something?

Found the problem (escalated to support) :-)

The System Image graphics driver is not installed correctly - any updates after installation do not rectify the problem.

Events
Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_46D2&SUBSYS_80231E50&REV_00\3&11583659&0&10 requires further installation.

Anyone come across this before? Thanks :-)
