It's to add a 2.5" HDD or SSD to the unit for extra storage, or to even use it as the system drive.

You're quite welcome. 🙂

On my GK1, which has the same type of case as the AK1 and AK1 Pro, I use it for an alternate system drive. My GK1 is a few years old, and it has eMMC for internal storage, which is a good bit slower than the types they use now. So I instead put Windows 10 on a 250GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD in that bottom mounted add on storage carriage, and then Linux Mint on the internal eMMC storage, which works well because it's a lot less speed and resource hungry than Windows. I have Windows drive set to boot by default, but it's easy to boot to the Linux Mint with the F7 boot menu on startup. The best of both worlds.
