Re: S1 Bluetooth Problems

Problem solved (at least for me)! First: You had stated "I got my updated 8852BE drivers here", however, in my case, Device Manager shows my adapter to be a Realtek 8821CE. So, I pulled down the driver directly from Realtek here: https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo/category/rtl8821ce-...

Re: S1 Bluetooth Problems

I have only tried two Bluetooth devices thus far. The first is a Logitech mouse and that worked flawlessly. The second is a set of Sony headphones. I could not get the computer to even see the headphones to pair with them until I brought the headphones within about 1 foot of the system. Once connect...

Wow, these little N95 based Mini PCs can compress video FAST!

I'm loving these little N95 based Mini PCs. Here is a use case that surprised me: Video compression. The N95 is a big improvement over the previous generation Celeron and Pentium CPUs, but being realistic, it's no high-end CPU. However, they DO include the QuickSync video hardware compression and th...

Re: S1 LED control program (20231102) released

Things are looking very good for me now. There's a few rough edges still but I have everything working on brand new clean install of Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (yes, the one released 2 days ago). I even have the screen working without having to logon.

Re: S1 LED control program (20231101) released

Gabe, are you on the latest builds and updates? When I first unboxed the S1 everything was fine. As soon as I allowed Windows updated to apply the latest updates, that's when the problems began. I also would not advise doing a clean install, unless you mean using the factory image. If you do a clean...

Re: S1 LED control program (20231101) released

The instant that I downloaded this updated version, Defender instantly quarantined it saying that threats were found.

Windows 11 23H2 is officially released today

The irony is that my primary desktop system with an 11th gen Intel CPU was offered the update via Windows update. However, I have three 12th gen systems including two Mini PCS and none of them are being offered the update yet. This is where it would be nice to do a clean install on the S1, but the s...

Re: Another S1 issue - Shutdown not available via a Remote Desktop connection

This NOT an RDP thing. I literally use RDP with dozens of machines and have NEVER had this issue on any of them.

In any case, whatever the cause was, reinstalling the OS using the provided factory image resolved the issue as does performing a clean install of Windows from a standard retail image.

Re: How can I install the screen control software for the S1?

No, if I use the recovery image and install from a USB Flash Drive, Remote desktop will be fine after installation, however THERE IS A BIG ISSUE to be aware of. First, the small stuff: After installation, you are not done. You will end up booting into "Audit Mode". Upon first boot a Syspre...

Re: How can I install the screen control software for the S1?

Follow-up: I went back to the factory installation and took a closer look. There are registry entries involved here as well. Bottom line is that in order to make this work we will need an installation program or some detailed step-by-step instructions on how to make this work.
