Re: S1 - What does this socket do?

If I were to guess, it's some kind of serial port for internal debugging. Since it's on the side that doesn't face customers, I expect it wasn't intended for use by normal people like us.

Still, it looks interesting.

Re: MiniPC AMR5 shut off and won't turn back on

Hi, we are experiencing the same thing. I installed Minecraft for my son last night, 5 minutes after I left the room without anyone touching it, the PC shut down. This morning it will not power on. Brick light is green until I plug it into the PC then it goes out. Sounds like some kind of short; th...

Re: Power button extension ?

I've heard of things like this before, like this one: www.amazon.com/DARKROCK-Button-Extension-Desktop-Computer/dp/B0CPL8N24R However, I don't know how much effort would go into installing it. I believe they are intended for home-built systems, not factory built, as the power button on your AM06 mig...

Re: S1 inside photo

Nice job, MiyaCulpa. I admit, I was curious what the other side of my S1 looked like, but since there's really no reason to take it apart (unless I have thermal paste), I think I'll be keeping it intact. Did you notice any performance or temperature differences between the stock paste and what you p...

Awesome! I'd do a "thank" but it appears that's not available for these forums, so take my emoji instead:

Re: Brightness Control

Yeah, it's quite puzzling! Usually, if the display slider doesn't work, it seems like there's some type of driver missing. Function keys aren't always part of the display drivers, but usually relate to some extra graphics software, so maybe something is missing? Sadly, I don't have one of these lapt...

Re: Brightness Control

Are you missing any device drivers? Have they been updated recently? In Windows, you can also go to Settings > Display and find options to adjust the brightness for the screen.

If there's any resolution to this, be sure to share in case somebody else comes to the forums looking for a similar solution.

Re: RAM upgrade

dragonpoo, Your signature lists some systems that come with 8GB of RAM. I'll admit, I've considered upgrading some of my systems to have more RAM. But, not all systems can handle an upgrade, with soldered RAM in place. Then, which would I do? The AMR5 would support it, and you've shown the S1 can h...
