dragonpoo, Your signature lists some systems that come with 8GB of RAM. I had my first contact with the phenomenon called "overRAMing" through a J4105-DDR4-MiniPC: Intel states a max. of 8GB RAM, but I was able to confirm that 16GB RAM was fully operational. The Intel community offers an e...

Re: Function of "USB-HiSpeed-SERIAL-A CH347 (COM3)"

dragonpoo,

Thank you for linking the additional information.

I was curious about understanding this "COM3" device, which I've never noticed in other MiniPCs.

Currently I presume the AM16 manufacturer will not provide further information.

Re: Function of "USB-HiSpeed-SERIAL-A CH347 (COM3)"

  • Which (Windows-) application is needed to perform the "internal debugging" procedure?
  • Is Debugging related to the CPU type "AMD Ryzen™ 5 PRO 5675U"?
  • Do other mini PC addressed in this forum have the "internal debugging" capability?

Re: RAM upgrade up to 32 GB verified

According to Intel Ark N97 supports 16 GB of RAM (“dependent on memory type”): https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/233090/intel-processor-n97-6m-cache-up-to-3-60-ghz.html Additionally, you may find an explanation at the intel community: “"Depending on Type" -- as in DDR3 v...

Re: KINGSTON OM8SEP41024Q-A0 - "NVMe 1.3 device" violates official F2A spec

@barry777:

Instead of forcing each and every user to raise an individual claim concerning this non compliant NVMe SSD drive a solution proposed by the manufacturer might be superior.

Re: KINGSTON OM8SEP41024Q-A0 - NVMe 1.3 device with PCIe Gen4 interface

@davidfi01: Please share your drive information by using CrystalDiskMark (default settings, 5 paths) and checking the CrystalDiskInfo results immediately afterwards. The results I've published are in the expectable range of a NVMe 1.3 SSD. Of course, the drive label might suggest that we should expe...

How to mount a heatsink to a M.2 NVMe SSD on F2A

The description following doesn’t introduce no modification to F2A, but an addition, which is easily removable without any trace. The initial set-up is already precisely shown by Barry: https://minipcunion.com/viewtopic.php?p=13834#p13834 Carey Holzman reviewed, that the M2.NVMe supplied with the F...
